Edgbaston

Birmingham B5 7QU. More a massive stadium than a traditional cricket ground, but excellent facilities not forgetting the famous and now superseded 'Brumbrella', a motorised cover which however was not used in the notorious Benson and Hedges quarter-final in 1994 against Kent as the Warwickshire groundstaff wanted to air the ground to combat fungus. Hence the match was reduced to an indoor single-stump bowl-out which proved to be not exactly Nigel Llong's forte (He subsequently took up umpiring). Edgbaston Road, Birmingham. Two miles due south from Birmingham New Street station.
Plans are rumoured of a move to a new site in the Digbeth area, closer to the City Centre. Tel: 0870-0621902
