hence 'Church End' and 'Railway End'. A mile from station, through middle of town.

Site of the traditional first match for Test tourists, vs Lavinia, Duchess of Norfolk's XI,
aka "whoever isn't playing a county match that week". Just a patch of grass, but set in a hollow
in the Castle grounds, near the Cathedral. A mile from the station. A steep climb once across the River Arun.
